In the recent past, the modern lifestyle has drastically increased various ailments and degenerative disorders. Due to the excessive usage of laptops, cell phones, and other forms of technology, many people suffer from different types of illnesses, and most of them are related to unnatural body postures. It is all due to a sedentary lifestyle and a lack of physical exercise. Cervical spondylosis is a common spinal problem seen in a young age group due to lifestyle changes. Many medications and surgical options are available for spondylosis treatment, but before going for these, try the natural remedies at home to get relief.

Let us understand spondylosis in detail and the home remedies that can help relieve the pain associated with this health issue.

    What is spondylosis?

Spondylosis is a common spinal problem that is also referred to as degenerative arthritis (osteoarthritis) of the spine. The soft tissues and bones that comprise the spine naturally deteriorate over time, leading to this condition. Although any part of the spine may be affected, spondylosis tends to occur in the cervical (neck) and lumbar (lower back) areas.

Home Remedies To Help Spondylosis Treatment

    • Proper Posture

Reducing strain on the neck and spine requires maintaining good posture. Whenever you sit or stand, ensure your back is straight, your shoulders are relaxed, and your chin remains parallel to the ground. Prolonged hunching over or slouching exacerbates cervical spondylosis symptoms. Therefore, always keep your body in proper alignment and avoid slouching.

    • Neck Stretching And Strengthening Exercises

Regular neck stretching and other strengthening exercises, such as side-to-side neck tilts, neck turns, shoulder shrugs, etc., help reduce the pain associated with spondylosis. However, ensure you perform these exercises gently without causing further strain or discomfort.

    • Essential Oils

Essential oils such as peppermint, eucalyptus, and lavender have soothing properties. Use these oils to gently massage your neck and shoulders. Massage relieves pain and encourages relaxation. For better results, combine a few drops of this oil with coconut oil and gently massage the affected area.

    • Epsom Salt Bath

Take warm water into your bathtub and add some Epsom salt to it. Now take a few minutes to relax and release any tension in your muscles by soaking yourself in that water. Epsom salts contain magnesium, which has the properties to remove inflammation and alleviate pain. Add two cups of Epsom salt to your lukewarm bathwater and soak for 20 minutes. Repeat this every week for better results.

    • Maintain a healthy diet.

Apart from yoga, exercises, massage, and other self-care methods for spondylosis, adhering to a nutritious diet is crucial to mitigating symptoms. Those suffering from spondylosis must include all the essential nutrients in their diet. They must include milk, whole-wheat bread sprouts, raw veggies, fruits and vegetables that are high in vitamins C and A, omega-3 fatty acids, and anti-inflammatory foods.

    Conclusionfoods

In conclusion, if the pain persists for more than a few days, book an appointment with the spine specialists of top healthcare centers, like ANSSI Wellness, and get 100% non-surgical spinal decompression treatment to overcome your spondylosis.
